Canoe Trip Packages
From One to Eight Days

(please refer to map at bottom of page)

Trip #1 The White Cliffs of the Upper Missouri

3 days/2 nights: $650 per person
4 days/3 nights: $800 per person
Paddling Distance: 46 miles

A perfect short trip, and our most popular. Paddle on smooth water through the awesomely beautiful White Cliffs, camp in Lewis & Clark campsites, visit tipi rings and petroglyphs, explore old homestead buildings, and hike to spectacular off-river locations. An excellent short trip, especially for groups traveling with kids. The difference between the 3 day and 4 day version is that the longer trip incorporates more hiking into the itinerary.

Trip #2 The White Cliffs & Badlands

6 days/5 nights: $
1200 per person
7 days/6 nights: $1350 per person
Paddling Distance: 103 miles

We consider this to be the premier extended trip on the Upper Missouri. Paddle through the White Cliffs and continue into the hauntingly beautiful and less visited Badlands of the Upper Missouri. Great scenery, solitude, abundant wildlife, rugged terrain with abundant hiking opportunities, Lewis and Clark campsites, and dinosaur bone beds. The difference between the 6 day and 7 day version is that the longer trip incorporates more hiking into the itinerary.

Trip #3 Upper River and White Cliffs

5 days/4 nights: $895 per person
Paddling Distance: 88 miles

A great intermediate trip. Leave historic Ft. Benton to float the lush, meandering upper river segment, passing 1830's fur trade post sites, then continue past Coal Banks Landing and into the spectacular beauty of the White Cliffs, described above in Trip #1. One of the Lewis and Clark highlights of this trip is an evening hike to Decision Point, where the expedition camped for 10 days while the decision was being made about which of the two rivers, the present day Marias or the Missouri, was the correct river to follow.

Trip #4 Full-Length Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River

7 days/6 nights: $1750 per person
8 days/7 nights: $1910 per person
Paddling Distance: 149 miles

Paddle the entire 149 mile length of the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River, camping in Lewis and Clark campsites, visiting scores of historic sites, and hiking in the White Cliffs and Badlands. Supplies will be replenished mid-way through the trip at Judith Landing. The longer version of this trip incorporates more hiking than the shorter version, and may allow us the opportunity to build a layover day into the schedule, where we spend two nights at the same campsite.

Trip #5 The Badlands (Missouri Breaks)

4 days/3 nights: $950 per person
5 days/4 nights: $995
Paddling Distance: 61 miles

This unique trip goes from Judith Landing to Kipp Recreation Area, through the most rugged and wild section of the Upper Missouri, and the least visited by other paddlers. This segment of the river is set in a 1000 foot deep canyon with incredible scenery, lots of historic sites, awesome geology, and some outstanding wildlife -viewing opportunities.  Large tracts of BLM wilderness make this segment almost totally untouched by man's presence, and also offer tremendous opportunities for hiking. The 5 day option provides more hiking time than the 4 day option.

Trip #6 The Upper River

2 days/1 night: $325 per person
Paddling Distance: 17 miles

This trip covers 42 miles in 2 days, and is therefore a somewhat  ambitious trip. It is well suited for experienced paddlers who want to do a short duration trip. It takes advantage of the stronger current on this stretch of the river to help us average about 21 miles per day. This stretch of the river passes the sites of several historic fur trade posts, including Fort MacKenzie and Fort Piegan, and five Lewis and Clark campsites. The meandering river bottom has many islands with lush cottonwood groves that provide good habitat for deer, songbirds, and waterfowl.

Trip #7 Taste of the Upper Missouri

2 days/1 nights: $325 per person
Paddling Distance: 17 miles

Spend a single relaxing night camping on the Lewis and Clark trail on the banks of the Upper Missouri River. This trip begins in Fort Benton and ends 18 miles downriver at Loma, where the Marias River empties into the Missouri. This trip departs on the afternoon of the first day, and  involves a relatively short paddle to our evening camp which is  right on the river. A complete dinner will be served that evening. after breakfast on the second day, we'll have another short paddle to our take-out point where our van will return us to Fort Benton, with a stop at Lewis and Clark's Decision Point to enjoy the views and interpretive information.

Trip #8 Day Tripper

1 day: $125 per person
Paddling Distance: 14 or 17 miles

Enjoy a 3-5 hour canoe trip on the historic Upper Missouri to sample the beauty and history. Pass Lewis and Clark campsites and fur trade post sites, and view wildlife.
